The Kasumi Company is certainly the most experienced and the oldest company in this industry. The Kasumi belongs to the 27th generation of master knife makers and they have been around successfully for around 700 years. Yeah… you heard it right! 700 years of experience and expertise passed from generation to generation.

Kasumi knives are world famous for their impeccable making. The craftsmen forge Kasumi knives by joining a piece of soft iron with carbon steel. Then the blade edge is designed after forging, hammering, and shaping the carbon steel. After a series of processes, the carbon steel becomes the blade edge. The brittleness of the blade is reduced drastically and it makes sharpening easier for everyone who uses the knife. Kasumi knives are much easier to use and quicker to sharpen.

Kasumi knives are usually made of layered steel or Damascus steel. Kasumi knives have introduced ceramic knives with zircon base, which are long lasting and wear-resistant. The particles of zirconium make the blade shock resistant and long lasting.

The raw materials used are treated at a temperature of approximately 1500° C. The result is that only diamond exceeds this material in hardness, and that only a diamond grinding wheel can be fit for whetting it.

There are both single edged and double edged knives available in the market. A double edged knife is angled on both sides of the edge, whereas a single edged knife is angled on only one side of the blade.

The knives are made of blended steel and pure steel. Blended ones have good flexibility and pure ones are hard and difficult to sharpen.

A 14 cm utility Kasumi knife would cost you around $50 and considering the demand, it is better to book them right now.

Kasumi’s 10-inch chef’s knife is convenient with a large blade that lets you cut any size of meat or any other thing in your kitchen. It costs around $180.

Kasumi’s 8-inch knife is the most standard one and it’s available at $170 per piece. Other Kasumi products like 10-inch Bread Knife, 10-inch Slice knife and so many other things are available at cheaper prices on the market.
